About Steve Franzen
In November 2018, Steve was re-elected Campbell County Attorney. As the Campbell County Attorney, Steve brings a strong work ethic to his job - an attitude cultivated after years of hard work and dedication in the field of law.
Steve has over thirty years of experience as an attorney. He has since 1985 and continues to maintain a general private practice practicing in a variety of civil matters. Currently, Steve also serves as legal adviser for the City of Highland Heights, a position he has held since 1986 and formerly served as City Attorney for the City of Crestview for ten (10) years until 1996. Steve formerly served as an assistant City Attorney for Newport and as a staff attorney for the Kentucky Supreme Court. Steve has handled a wide variety of criminal and civil cases ranging from misdemeanor and felony prosecution and defense to complex medical malpractice, products liability and wrongful death cases.
Steve grew up in Cold Springs and attended St. Joseph School until eighth grade. He went to Campbell County for High School, University of Kentucky for undergraduate degree and Northern Kentucky University for law school.
Steve lives in Wilder with his wife, the former Debbie McKinley and they have three children: Leah, Nick and McKinley. Steve is a proud grandfather to Julius.
